Current moment requires castration. Variations on the theme: reversal is a powerful tool for considering new possibilities and alternate modes of co-existence. Revenge as reflexive verb and self-administered panacea; plumbing the depths of intimacy.

Some time ago, I was in a stranger’s apartment and asked to use their bathroom. Besides a shelf of books in there, everything was in its place, except for the Labrador-Husky curled up against the toilet, facing away from me, refusing to move. Not without hesitation and guilt, but wishing to end my stay at once and with the least amount of friction as possible, I rapidly and furtively relieved myself - to no vocal complaints, except for a bored ruff at the flushing.

I knew that there was no other place in that house in which that dog could find any hope of inner peace; its compulsion was instantly communicated, and in that moment, it seemed actually possible that all experience could be - potentially - universal.
